Founded in 2008 by brother and sister team Will and Jessica Star, Shooting Stars has had the pleasure of working with many couples throughout the Tri-State Area, and has helped to capture some of the most powerful and enduring memories of their lives.
Shooting Stars' style couples documentary reportage with classic and modern portraiture through the use of both digital and analog film cameras in a variety of formats.
Will and Jessica are trained artists behind the camera. Will graduated from NYU with a degree in Photography and Digital Media, and Jessica holds a degree in Film from Hunter College. Will's personal street photography work has recently been acquired by The Museum of the City of New York, and has been featured in Leica Camera's art book, "Myself."

“I had Will Star shoot my wedding photos after working with him on an unrelated video project —- and in short, I could not have asked for an easier person to work with, or a more exacting delivery of service re: what I had requested. (I asked for a lot of candid shots to capture the real moments of my small, intimate wedding, because forcing guests to pose for photos is often hackneyed or clumsy, with often poor results leaving less than perfect memories of the event...just my opinion).
The best thing about Shooting Stars is that its run by a guy who is fully obsessed with photography as not only an artform, but as a mechanical process, the means to capture life via a series of technological processes...he is as comfortable shooting pics using digicams or film cameras, using everything from state of the art cameras/equipment/lenses all with the same skill he could employ using a rare vintage manual you might see on Antiques Roadshow. If I remember correctly, we only used Will for a couple hours but he came with no less than 7 cameras and an assistant holding even more equipment. He’s a perfectionist and a total photog nerd, and that’s exactly what you want for your special day - someone who lives and breathes his craft, and understands what you do or do not want when it comes to capturing memories in a medium.
